Last day in Turkey- act like a tourist!

I'm finding myself quite comfortable being behind a lens when I travel- I always see things that I want to capture. It's weird, to find myself being a real 'tourist', but I suppose a lot of the 'travelling' I do isn't really touristy at all. I wasn't too comfortable at first taking photos in the mosques, but once I saw the thousands of others taking photos, it suddenly didn't seem so bad. But I was remembering when, not tooo tooo long ago in our past, before the digital age, not nearly as many people had cameras.

And so, on this, my last day in Turkey, I thought I'd chat less, and just post some photos. Last little things I didn't want to forget.

Some VERY cool felt & cloth hats in a shop window

Our favourite saleswoman of wee cloth bags. The bags are the same all across the city, and everyone claims they are 'handmade', and everyone charges their own price. I wanted to support this woman.

The hookas- all shapes, colours & sizes

Quite a slick tramline runs through the city

Street meat. These shops are everywhere. Miam, miam!

Lots of tourists make it to the traditional dance nights- we didn't.

The view from our hotel balcony, after they removed the dead grapeleaves for the season. Note the ships in the harbour. There is constant ship traffic going by daily, representing big $$$.
